I celebrated the 4th of July once, when I traveled to the US back in 2019. I was 17 years old. I became friends with this American kid, and he invited me to celebrate the 4th of July with him. He got kind of mad when I asked him what the hell the 4th of July was about. He pulled up to my place and drove me to this park where a massive barbecue was taking place. There were lots of American flags everywhere, a lot of food trucks serving local American food, people having picnics, and a stage with a live show happening. I remember eating some of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had, for a very cheap price. At the end of the afternoon, a fireworks show took place.
