it doesn't matter. there aren't enough of them to make a budgetary difference. they already pay more taxes. they also make enough money to avoid most of their taxes. what you should be asking for is flat taxes. but you wont like it because the poor will have to pay their fair share too. taxes are bad for everyone. we live in a fiat economy and there is no reason for anyone to pay any taxes ever.

Yes. The rich built their wealth off America, if they don’t want to pay taxes they can move to Somalia. Nobody acknowledges the fact the nation enabled them to build wealth in the first place, if bezos was born in Europe he’d probably be cleaning toilets.

Well its a tax that motivates people to buy locally. Its also entirely optional. I dont have to buy french wine and its a luxury good anyways in most cases.

consumers likewise will turn away from foreign goods with tariffs. Its why they become a bargaining chip against those who want to enter american market.

This is only for the top 1% of income earners. They real 1% doesnt earn an income, they get paid in stock options and then just use those stocks as collateral for super low-interest loans.

None of which is reportable to the IRS.

billionaires dont make billions in income. you're confusing wealth with income, two different things.

the top federal tax bracket is 37% on income over $610k. raising the top bracket to 40% will be a new change of 3% on the $53k difference on average from the income split point, or about $1600 per 1%er per year. that's $2.5B per year. the deficit is $1,800B. you just solved 0.15% of the budget problem. good job.

Budgetary math is written by retards. They assume that people will not change behavior based on incentives.
>Raise taxes to 100%?
They’ll just keep working with no change whatsoever!
>Lower taxes?
Gosh that money just disappears. It’s certainly not put into productive use anywhere in the economy. Therefore, letting people keep their money is considered a “cost” with no benefit
