>>509440560 (OP)I'm Serbian-Canadian in my early 30's, was born in Serbia but left as a baby and came back 5 years ago. A lot of your question depends on what "comfortable" living looks like to you, how open you are to making new friends and adjusting to the culture, how determined you would be to learn the language. So far I much prefer being here over Canada even though the process involved learning the language almost from scratch while also needing to make an entirely new social circle since I never came during the summers and had no friends or even cousins my age.
If you can get yourself a remote job that comfortably provides for you and your family than your economic issues would be solved which is the main issue here (politics as well but you wouldn't be getting into that as a foreigner). Besides that you will find that Serbs are open and warm people towards foreigners and will appreciate even little attempts to learn the language/integrate into the culture.
