PS there's more too. Like "Yirah" is the hebrew word for "fear" that's used in the old testament to describe "fear of God". But in hebrew that word means more "awe and amazement" than it does outright "fear". Once the new testament comes along where its written in different languages, "Yirah" becomes straight up "fear". So now in christianity people are expecting to fear God whereas thats not so much the implication of judaism. Theres a lot to it. But I found Judaism to be a far more progressive religion.

They're all the Torah but jews don't necessarily need to take the Torah literally in the way that Christians do. In Christianity, Christians see Jesus Christ as a messiah who came and laid down the law. Told them all whats up. Denied and confirmed a bunch of stuff and one of the things he explicitly validated was the Torah when he said "I didn't come to abolish the old law but to fulfill it."

Jews dont have that attitude. Jews will generally see the Torah as flawed [sans ultraconservative and orthodox ones which are only a tiny minority of the overall number of jews]. And this is why you generally don't see jews running around and denying evolution for example. Or saying the Earth is 10,000 years old. Or flat. Christians need to make explicit sense of the Torah whilst jews can simply disregard anything we dislike in it. The Talmud being a series of debates is a work that heavily itself implies the fallibility of the Torah.

Its hard for people from culturally christian society to wrap their minds around the distinct lack of form in judaism. Its built around the torah, just like christianity, yes, but its an entirely different interpretation. In fact, its one of explicit non-interpretation because the fact that we DO NOT, and in fact are INCAPABLE OF understand the nature of God, is critical in Judaism. Nor are our religious texts perfect in the view of judaism.
