This region is so unique am mysterious, but rarely represented by Jewlywood or Talmud vision.

We know they have issues with poverty and addiction, but I'm sure there is much more there... Unique culture and beautiful scenery.

I will tell you, I live here in Appalachia. There are Jewish people in Appalachia and Jewish farmers as well. There are a lot of small family farms in highland regions due to the mountainous terrain, which is not as well suited to large corporate factory farms.

There are some large cities and a lot of smaller towns. Yes the scenery is beautiful and much of it is untouched wilderness. Many people proudly identify as hillbillies as well. Poverty and addiction is also a big issue, but generally speaking if you are kind people will treat you well.

Faith is big. People believe in God and take religion seriously. One of my favorite things about Appalachia to be honest. I made my home out here but am not a hillbilly redneck by birth, am a yeehaw redneck from the Texas plains.

Well around these parts we tell a story or two about the melon heads, some patients they let out of the mental hospitals and psych wards, said to have gigantic noggins and supernatural powers, and said to love wanderin' the woods and conducting unearthed business. Real wounded types, basically a hillbilly so grounded to the land that time and space begin to rip if the modren world jams too hard against an Appalachian life style.
We also have stories about types like Henrique Hudson, Norse gods that came west with the Dutch Settlers, and became watchers of this land, guarding it with their unknown ways and strange habits. Real earth breakin' time tearin' creatures with plenty of witnesses.

It can get pretty wild - some folks have been pretty isolated for the last 350 years. Like they reverted to sub-Roman times.
