"In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost at least 11 generals killed.
Four of them (Andrei Sukhovetsky, Vladimir Frolov, Kanamat Botashev and Roman Kutuzov) died in the first four months of the war.
The next two Russian generals (Major General Sergei Goryachev and Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov) were killed in the summer of 2023 by precision missile strikes.
Two more generals have died due to careless actions in their own rear. In November 2023, Deputy Commander of the 14th Army Corps, Major General Vladimir Zavadsky, reportedly stepped on a mine while in a rear position. And the commander of the 5th Donetsk Motorized Rifle Brigade, Pavel Klimenko, died after falling from a motorcycle. According to one account, the general was trying to evade a UAV strike; according to another, he was drunk.
On December 17, 2024, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops, general Igor Kirillov, was killed near his home in Moscow."
