The important detail to notice is that both of these dates immediately precede the anniversaries of the french and american revolutions. On the anthropological level, institutions are specifically catering to a stable "administrator" type instead of the unstable "eccentric" type which had been the unexpected and unpredictable driving force behind scientific inventions. This administrator type is one of the many echoes of the neo-feudalist transformation that I described and functions best in a high-trust environment of few parameters, high predictability and high social variance (this means, there are possibilities of attaining very high or low social status).
I have used technology as one example to demonstrate how neo-feudalism creeps into every fabric of society. One could talk about economics, however, the economic implications of neo-feudalism have often been explained in great detail. (1)
