Modern war is dark in a way war never used to be. Millions of people can sit in comfort and watch your humiliating death on the battlefield for their entertainment. Not that battle spectation. In the War of Northern Aggression for example there were some battles where bystanders gathered on hill tops to watch the battles, but nothing like we have now. Very dark stuff.
