Temporary alliances are common in geopolitics when survival is at stake. After the war, the rivalry resumed—sharper than ever—with the Cold War. But in 1941–1945, necessity created cooperation, not friendship.

Capitalism and communism are both materialist ideologies. So was nazism, but in general fascism recognizes the spiritual element of society and community. Capitalism and communism are explicitly opposed to it, and so have more in common.
