Everything is a cycle.
Sunrise, noon, sunset.
New moon, half moon, full moon.
Spring, summer, autumn, winter.
Waking, working, sleeping.
Birth, growth, reproduction, death.

Civilizations follow the same pattern.
They begin with unity, expand through ambition, peak in stability.
Then comes stagnation.
Eventually, they fracture, from within or without.
Civil war, revolution, or invasion breaks the structure.
What was once order returns to chaos.
And from the ruins, a new cycle begins.

Western civilization is on the brink of death.

Why? It's interesting thinking about how a lot of things are cycles. I had never thought about that before today

Yeah, hopefully. If you've read Tragedy & Hope by Carroll Quigley, he says that western civilization has actually already collapsed and been reborn several times already, I forgot which times, but usually the rebirth of western civilization makes it better than ever, like the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, Capitalism, the Scientific Revolution, etc
