The political right has transcended self-awareness and now functions as a parody of itself. A similar thing occurred with the "woke" left nearly a decade ago, just before their increasingly incoherent ideology evolved into a pseudo self-actualization mechanism for narcissists.
It's just the establishment ghouls flailing around as they try to accrue to themselves the legitimacy that only populism can confer while seeking to put as little of those ideas into practice as they can get away with. SJWism is somewhat different as it was propped up the "left" faction of the elite to neuter actual left populism by miring it in endless unproductive screeching about trannies and niggers, but it's now more trouble than it's worth so they've largely abandoned it
