Because India is in its growth phase now. Salaries are very low, living conditions are bad. Sure, I can be part of the India growth story by going back, working hard, contributing my fullest to nation building activities. But that would rob the prime years of my life away - the next 30-40 yrs of my life that will be my main work years. India will have definitely progressed and become a much better, richer, comfier nation by then, but I would be old, decrepit, weak and close to the end of my life. Instead, I rather let my fellow Indians toil in labor for the next 30-40 yrs, meanwhile, I'll make a lot of money here comfortably while doing very little work (white collar jobs), then go back to India after 40 yrs and enjoy the fruits of others labor.
