im swedish and think light roasts are the best.
though, the concept that you need more is not exactly true, as light roasted coffee contains more caffeine per portion of beans, than does medium/darker roasts.
instead, you need to modify your brew time and grind size for it to take slightly longer. this also applies to natural process coffee (bean fermented and dried with fruit pulp still on)
