Many small towns in the UK everything is deserted, boarded up and homes are for sale for £5.000 Local governments do funny desperate things like paint fake front doors on brick walls and put up photos of people behind windows to make these homes appear not-deserted. Its no different from North Korea's fake cities near the South Korean border.

The UK is not Europes poorest country but Europes poorest do live there. Abject poverty in some places, somalia-tier quality of life.

Centralised wealth mostly in and around London. Everywhere else gets crumbs from the table.
