He's clearly not doing this for others. Taking away gibs from the poor while simultaneously targeting employee/consumer protection agencies with DOGE did nothing but help the already ultra-rich. The only reason he ever turned against Trump is because he gutted his EV subsidies with the OBBB which, in turn, means his electric cars will all cost $8k more now than they previously did. I guarantee you he does not give a single fuck about "eliminating waste/fraud" or the American people by and large.

He can’t really do any of the big projects he wants to do (mars colony, interplanetary internet, sovereign corporate states ) without political support and none of the current parties are interested so he will do what every rich person does and astroturf his own movement until it becomes “real” or whatever.
