Generals aren't "anonymous internet experts". We have less than 10 generals with the clearance to data about the F-47. They are very important people, with names. They are under a constant watch for their own safety and ours. They would be court marshaled and imprisoned for life if they tried to leak such classified information to the press.
In addition, what makes modern American aircraft isn't some stats pages, but the scientific formula for the alloys and coatings in which make them undetectable by anything other nations own. Generals aren't walking around the White House with a slip of paper with the scientific formula that makes our strategic bombers and modern fighters undetectable by the opposition.
