That's a stupid assumption. A lot of people walk through that idea and believe that it's correct but you're not considering the amount of time that it took for you to get where you are. If you don't mind me to pry. How many children do you have ? Did you have a college fund ? Did your parents save money for you ? They tried hard and shit right ? But they didn't try in the fincial aspect ? Where the fucking money gonna go ? That's why we reach the late stage capitalism and people wishing for dedollarization and the death of the American economy because they are lazy and thought you were born to slave for globalization. If your parents go out of their way to help you to this day, then you should help them back. Some families do a good job of building up that familial bond so that everybody wants to help each other.
If your parents were typical boomers who took the "I'm doing my part as long as you have a roof over your head, and I'm kicking you out as soon as you turn 18" approach to parenting, then to Hell with them.
