>>509611180Ok, check this shit out - early March a small tornado fucked up my house. 1/2 roof gone - not shingles, actual roof. Not going into any of the unique damage because doxing. No insurance because back when there was massive fires Northwest of Austin, and then the State Park fire at Inks Lake the insurance industry looked at rural shit with no fire department or hydrants. Shit's fucked there because they couldn't outright cancel policy but could raise premium so high it was no longer affordable for a retired ruralfag like me - just under 700 bucks a month.
It has been a super rainy season. A massive limb clipped the corner of my house. That caused damage. Broken windows. The industrial tarp did not contain this water event. The Sheetrock started dropping off my ceiling a little after 2am.
I'm good. I have the means to get everything fixed, retirement will take a ding. My problems are nothing compared to so many families facing a tragic nightmare. Blessings to you.
Oh, and kinda trapped because of washed out roads/debris in crossings.
