According to Sharia as written in the Quran if a man suspects his wife of adultery he can ask her 5 times. And if she denies it 5 times they are considered divorced. As for punishing her for adultery then 4 witnesses need to testify. And I think the prescribed punishment is 50 lashes (From some hardened reed thing that I imagine hurts like a bitch and leaves welts)
But yeah. As it is written, going entirely by the Quran Islam is actually more liberal than Christianity. (Although the exact opposite ends up being true in practice). Like I think also according to the Quran a man can't rape his wife, and if they don't have sex within the last 40 days either partner can then move for divorce.
