It's quite literally impossible for the foreseeable future. The technology isn't there, and it probably won't be for at least two more generations. Even then it'll take decades of extremely hard work to shift society over to that form of function. You or I will long since be dust before this happens.

It's not impossible. UBI would not be a lot of money. Some guy who makes $30-50/hr driving a truck is not going to quit his job because he starts getting UBI. Welders and surgeons aren't going to quit.

The problem government and corporations have with UBI and robot workers are the human slaves will no longer be needed. Humans might realize all the insane pressure of life was unnecessary and a result of government and corporate efforts to keep the population occupied and under control. When robot machines can be used as labor giving humans the opportunity to relax and not need to work and be managed by government and corporations the role of governments and corporations will begin to evaporate. Governments and corporations do not want that

There is a lot of work that robots can do, but there is still plenty of stuff that needs to be done. What they actually fear is not people doing no work, but not working for them. There is a ton of absolutely worthless work being done that consumes huge resources.

Think about all of the work that goes into maintaining the supply and distribution chain for some shitty junk food like Pringles. If it went away tomorrow, who would starve? Nobody. And the only people making any real money is the marketing scum and the capitalist class who owns the company.
