Literally any bit of training will help you win 90% of street fights. In general it's people who have no training who start fights not people who actually know how to fight. Literally just go do a few months of boxing and you're gonna fuck up just about anyone who starts a fight with you on the street. Muay Thai, wrestling, judo, Sambo, kickboxing, even karate and taekwon do are also valid options since you learn how to actually throw a punch or kick properly. MMA is great obviously but it's unnecessary. Just learn how to punch properly and how to move your head.

Anything where you spar with another similarly capable man will give you a huge leg up.
Trained, practiced fighters are going to be so far beyond the average guy in the street 95% of the time.
The other 4.95% of the time, they'll probably still win but not easily.
And about 5 out of 1000 will end badly for the trained fighter. Obviously the more trained you are, the better your odds will be.
Practice makes all the difference. If you're used to a man coming at you swinging or grabbing you to try and slam you, you'll have had opportunities to train your reaction.
And knowing what to do, or having some semblance of a plan will give you a huge leg up.
The only thing is, if you only train BJJ, and the guy rings your bell, you'll be out of luck. If you only train boxing and the guy grapples you to the ground, you better have a plan.
And don't bother with fight dancing classes (purely asian 'dojos'). Go somewhere where you can put on pads and go to town with a guy who can clean your clock.

Quite often non-consensual fights start at extreme close range, using social decorum as a cover. That's how sucker punches work, they just pretend they're not starting a fight until they're swinging. I’ve been in a ton of street fights and only “lost” three. Two I was jumped and one I was blacked out and sucker punched. In my experience being an actual street fighter means more than anything. Granted I didn’t spar with some mma faggot.
