No wonder kids are saying fuck you to cars, this shit is retarded. Every car is an ugly fucking blob with no redeeming features that they NEED to survive, the roads are filled with retarded browns who will eventually wipe out your savings and jack up your insurance. Even luxury sports cars are made with fucking chink plastic interiors that click and snap and bend and squeek.

Firstly, our increasingly electronic and automated society means less young boys are even interested in controlling large, mechanical vehicles; they'd rather play their little handheld video game phones. Secondly, there's just too many people, you can't really take a care out and do fun stuff, i.e., drive fast, etc. Just too many others on the road; plus, these are others who (see first reason) don't even want to be there, so modern driving is an exercise in frustration rather than a joy.

Not a zoomer, but cars are very expensive and so is the insurance for someone just starting their life out. Most zoomers I come across do want to own a vehicle, but cars are no longer built reliably, they are expensive and the insurance is basically a scam.

On the other hand, most zoomers in the US look at places like korea and see trains metro and so on. The services are reliable cheaper than owning a vehicle

Nope. If you only have $10K or less to drop on a car, these days that's getting you a 10+ year old car that will develop mechanical issues on a regular basis. My brother's Honda Accord had the key stop turning one day, so he couldn't start it. Now he has to figure out how to rig up a pushbutton to avoid spending $300 on parts for a new lock and programmed key. If he took it to a shop, it'd be $600+ to fix.

Ignoring the fact that we are nowhere near 0% unenployment, labour is also known as jobs. A few thousand people working on a construction site for years is less of a drain on the overall workforce than a ton of people going around installing solar panels and wind turbines.
Things are slow and expensive when the experience and supply chains aren't there, then they get faster and cheaper, like what happened with solar panels and wind turbines.

You're a retard. Cars let you do a lot more things than just commuting because being able to carry a family and their stuff gives you lots of options. Even for commuting, cars let you drive further, which means that you have more jobs to choose from compared to if you were restricted to walking and cycling.

We don't have wives or kids, we don't own houses. There goes a lot of the reason for owning a car. Choosing to work a job 40 miles away from home is stressful and stupid. In my US town, everything I need is less than two miles away. Stress-free and amazing for saving money. I save 75% of my paycheck, which by American standards is small (usually less than $3000 per month).

Most zoomers have been raised by single whores and grew up fatherless bastards.
Single whores usually have either some of those tiny woman cars made to compensate for a huge gaping vagina, something equally shitty but larger or simply no car at all.
Single whores barely teach their bastards how to drive or do anything car related. When they hit driving age, they might simply unload them onto driving instructors.

tl;dr the zoomer bastard generation grows up without any fun memories involving cars.

LCOE is designed to inform private investors. Your home/office/factory/whatever is plugged into the grid, not directly into the power station. Overcapacity, storage, and grid upgrades cost money. This is why Norway (which uses hydroelectricity) and France (which uses nuclear power and hydroelectricity) have cheaper bills than Germany and the UK, who went with solar wind, and gas.

Managed to survive into the '00s in some form as well, boomers may not have approved but we were still going strong up in the canyons with our 240SXs, Integras, RX-7s, etc., and even if you were dirt poor you could get a '80s or '90s Civic with a stick and lots of aftermarket.

Zoomers are fucked now though, nothing cheap except souless appliance crossovers and the few cheap RWD things left are all getting wrecked by niggers doing donuts into each other in intersections. It's tragic and it's hard to see how a car culture could exist anymore. Not to mention none of them can afford a house with a garage to work on stuff in either, and that's if you even CAN work on it without having to own thousands of dollars worth of diagnostic and coding tools.

>Americans are le individualists
America is a bugmen hivemind society and one of the most collectivist cultures on the planet that somehow deluded itself into thinking it's individualist.
Americans think it's normal to randomly talk to strangers on the streets, waiting next to you in a line, or when riding a fucking elevator.
Their suburban McMansion neighbors are glued to their windows 24/7 because they feel entitled to know what's going on inside.
Americans have "neighborhood associations", something you can't even find an analogy for in European and East Asian cultures, it's basically Sharia Police that enforces "public morals" concerning your house, they will evict you if you paint your house "inappropriately".

Think about american politics, the left wing thinks niggers are poor because systemic racism, the right wing thinks niggers are poor because they're genetically inferior. Both are predicated on a belief that all niggers are a single hive cluster that can only fail or succeed as a whole, it's entirely incomprehensible to an american bugman that maybe those niggers are just losers on an individual level, and there are plenty of nigger politicans, athletes, actors, and musicians who are individually succesful.

Ironically, China and Japan are the opposite, both of those countries are social-darwinist ancapistans that delude themselves into thinking they're collectivists. China doesn't have social security, and you wouldn't be able to explain to them the point of it, they genuinely believe that poor people deserve to starve to death for being losers.

I've recently noticed a really pronounced decline in the quality of drivers. I don't live in a major city but I'm am in a growth area along a major highway outside of 2 major city so changes there make their way here eventually. In the past year it's been like somone flipped a switch and suddenly no one can fucking drive anymore. And when i say pronounced I mean really pronounced. Like going out intonareas I've been thusands of times before and having multiple close calls in a single day just driving along same as I ever have. I see a major accident happen in front of my face what seems to be like every other week now. Illegal passing practicallyplaying god damn chicken with trucks, running redlights and stop signs and getting slammed for it, merging directly into people, merging without yeilding to oncoming traffic, suddenly turning without a signal making people slam on their breaks, not checking for pedestrians who have the green at cross walks nearly running people over or having to slam on theirnbreaks themselves, backing out in into someone becuase they didn't look or the opposite of somone not looking as somone is backing out in parkinglots, even fucking doors taken off and serious injuries becuase they don't check their mirror for oncoming traffic before getting out when parking on the street. I've seen more just plain stupid and irresponsible shit like that in the past year than I think I have the rest of my life combined and from what I've seen the drivers all seem to have been black or brown. If that's what it's like for zoomers in bigger cities I can somewhat understand. They don't have safe places to learn anymore becuase the people on the road are fucking menaces. Not realted to driving but I've also noticed a huge increase in aquatic emergency rescue service activity compared to of previous summers.

Yeah, because of urbanization. Urbanization tore rural communities apart, again made possible by mass transportation. The only real through line across countries with low fertility rates is a high percentage of people living in urban areas. What else do you think could be the reason for low birth rates in countries like Iran, the USA, Russia, China, France, Israel, Turkey. They're all near or below replacement level fertility rates and have little in common aside from being very urbanized.

>What are energy prices?
>What are food prices?
There's no through line to be found here across all countries with low birth rates. Home ownership goes anywhere from 40% too 90%, energy prices vary just as much if not more and food prices definitely have nothing to do with it. It's just urbanization.

Yeah I think this is legit. When I was a kid, I loved cars. Now they are cringe things that cost way too much money, all they do is shuttle you to and from your wagie job really slowly and safely and even then you are likely to pick up a fuckload of fines.

I never want to use a car ever again. The elites have successfully defiled them and made them lame and gay. Yet another cool part of culture that was lost.

They are expensive and in my particular case unnecessary. My city has very high quality public transport. I am also a sperg that simply hates the actual driving process, too many variables to take into consideration at all times, the cost of failing to juggle all of this variables is too high - financial damage / injury / death. Everyone also seems quite uncomfortable when you tell them you do not / will not drive which is nice.

Urbanisation (if you mean what I think you mean by it) was definitely the driving force of the reduction in birthrates over the 20th Century.
The economic model totally shifted from one where you were dependent on your children for a comfortable life in retirement to one where you instead recieved a pension or social security or lived off your 401k.
And so not only would more children compromise your lifestyle (and the lifestyle you could offer them), but the equity you accumulate over your life will be split amongst more people at your death. Even though people say that boomers don't give a fuck about leaving anything for their kids I still think there is an implicit understanding of this economic reality that influences the decision to have or not to have more children.
But the more recent increases in cost of living and particularly housing prices is the driving force of the change in birthrate we have seen over the 21st Century (particularly when isolating the birthrate of specific demographics i.e. discounting the buoyant effect of the migrant birthrate which is driven by cultural and socioeconomic factors).
People in Australia who want to have 3 kids aren't doing it because they can not afford a four bedroom home. A dual income couple on median full time income can only qualify for less than a million in loans. In our major cities where half of the population lives this can only afford you, at most, a three bedroom apartment or duplex.
Even if most of these couples would not choose to have more than 2 kids anyway due to the effects of urbanisation on the mindset around reproduction, it serves as a barrier for the minority of families who would still choose to have three or more kids.
I think this does have a meaninful impact on the birthrate, and if the trend continues we will soon be in a position where the average couple can not afford to have more than one kid due to their inability to afford more than a two bedroom home.

Who can afford to raise children today? I did calculations and for me to be given the same opportunity my mother/father had I would've had to be given ยฃ1,000,000+ before the age of 21. Both my parents went to grammar school (private school with free entry based on merit this no longer exists). Both parents had full scholarships at university. Gifted a deposit covering 1/4 the house cost. My dad had only been at his company for 18 months and the company offered him to move locations. Part of the relocation agreement was the company would pay for 1/2 the new house, my parents keep all ownership. My parents brought their house with this agreement for ยฃ80k when I was born (no mortgage). Twenty five years later the same house is now over ยฃ900k.

Honestly better range than I expected, but you'd need a lot of solar for that and you're still dealing with speed issues and long charge times if you want to go further.

My bike definitely cost more, about twice as much plus registration and insurance (which are dirt cheap compared to a car though, insurance is $199 a year for full coverage) but it can go on the freeway, go places you could never take an electric bike with an 80mi range, having registration and insurance means I'm not totally fucked if it gets stolen, and it makes fun vroom vroom noises that chicks apparently dig. All worth it to me.

Yeah, the range is absolute dogshit on them though, even the best are only good for like 120mi on the highway. It's always gonna be hard to get good highway range out of an electric bike because the aerodynamics suck and there's not much you can do about it while keeping the bike something people actually want to ride. I think the best bet would be standardized hot swappable batteries but that would require a lot of infrastructure and it's always gonna be limited compared to a gas bike where you can carry extra gas for a very minimal weight penalty (my bike gets an equivalent range to the best e-motos with less than 2 gallons of gas, about 10-12lbs) and I can also fill up at middle of nowhere campsites that have ancient gas pumps for people to fill their boat tanks or whatever and don't even have the power lines to run Tesla-level chargers.

Car insurance and payments on a fairly new car is about 700-800 a month. That was a rent payment in the 2000โ€™s

Thatโ€™s about 2/3rds the paycheck of someone working 40 hours a week making the federally mandated minimum wage which has remained unchanged fed since 2009.

Itโ€™s an absolute shit show out there for zoomers.

Weยดre at 31 cents per watt of solar.
https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/solar-pv-prices
Since its a semiconductor you can push it to 10 cents a watt in 10-15 years.

Your initial one time cost is always there (land).

For wind its still land + the mounting points that are reinforced concrete, shit lasts for centuries.
Youยดre only replacing the turbine blades, electric motor, gearing, brakes, possibly the tower.
No one is throwing away the metal parts of a turbine, things have copper spools weighing 200kg at least.

For hydro thereยดs general maintenance, youยดre not tearing down a dam and making a new one every 30 years.

Basically every major large appliance you own was brought to your home with a truck. When you move, when you purchase anything small enough to fit through your front door that you can lift yourself, when you need to build virtually any kind of structure or do serious renovations, you are depending on a truck or something else like it with decent carrying capacity. If you don't own that vehicle you are just depending on someone else who does to get you want you need. The fact that you can't ever accomplish any of these things by yourself and still don't understand the value of such vehicles just demonstrates how little you understand about how the world works.
