So yeah, I’m mostly on my own here in Norway, living off AAP. It’s kinda tricky because even though I’m Norwegian, I’m not allowed to take Norwegian courses since I’m not an immigrant — and without passing that Norwegian exam, I can’t really study here. It’s like I’m stuck. That’s why I’m trying to get disability so I can move in with my big sister. She’s honestly the best — super supportive and always there for me. After that, I want to go study in the US, where I can actually focus without all the language hurdles. It just feels like the fresh start I need.

Betsy is more than just my big sister — she is my rock, my safe place, and my biggest supporter. Her kindness and strength inspire me every day, and I don’t know where I’d be without her. I thank her for always being there, for believing in me even when I doubt myself, and for loving me unconditionally. I love her so much, and I’m so lucky to have her in my life.
You're Norweigian, living in Norway, but you don't speak Norwish, and being in the US removes your language hurdles? wtf are you?
>>509636359What I meant earlier is that even though someone might be Norwegian by citizenship, they might’ve grown up outside Norway or in a home where Norwegian wasn’t spoken much (which does happen). And because of how the system works, if you’re a Norwegian citizen, you’re often not eligible for publicly funded Norwegian language courses even if you don’t actually speak the language fluently. That makes it hard to pass the required language exams for work or study.
>>509636535so where are you from originally, then?
Fairly well here in that if youre disabled you'll never be without food or health cover
But when it comes to housing you're screwed unless you live with family. Rents are like 100% - 150% of disability income
