>I never grew up in a big house in the comfy suburbs
>I never went to American high school
>I never played American football
>I never watched the beautiful cheer leaders before a match
>I never had the American college experience
>I never visited any of the amazing American natural parks
>I never celebrated 4th of July or Thanksgiving
Whenever I watched American films or TV shows as a kid, I was reminded how much more exciting my live would have been, had I been born in the USA. But instead I'm stuck here in Europe

Many of those experiences are not the hollywood image you picture anymore. All that died in the late 00s/early 2010s.

You would get the American equivalent of the Paris syndrome. The same thing happens to tourists who visit Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles and they see what a really grimy crap hole it really is. When people visit the US, for example, they expect Americans to be all outgoing and friendly like they see in the movies. Theyโ€™re in for a rude shock. On the other hand, the movies depict every American having an arsenal weapons on them at all times and killing each other at the drop of a hat. Thatโ€™s not true either except in Texas.
