People bitched that he was disrespectful to them in his first term, but he did nowhere near the kind of damage like his tariffs are doing now. The US is going to abandon Japan by cutting its losses while focusing on their own affairs. Japan is starting to realize that the US' hegemony is slipping and they're hedging their bets right now.

It's bizarre considering back when the LDP was ultranationalist and wanted Japan to rewrite the constitution and remilitarize they rioted. Now when it gets pushed again they don't react? The US either wanted Japan to remilitarize (under a nationalist government) or have bases there, they absolutely refused to remilitarize. The reason for this was because a nation government would reject communism on principle, they also import almost all of their food and energy, so unless Sanseito wants to convert the population into farmers and send people to coal mines all he's doing is changing one master for another. Looks like Russia will finally have their way in, what's Sanseito's stance on the Kuril Islands perchance? Anyone talking about that? It really does seem like Russia is en route to become the next superpower just on oil hegemony alone. From what I read they want to do some 'organic' food reform, I looked up the details and it's like 5x more energy intensive than just importing food like they do now at that point they good from being vassals to oil monopolies to outright slaves.
