I have a Bestfriend (37M). He is like a slightly younger brother to me.

When I asked him, he said he doesn't use any dating apps. He has expressed disinterest in relationships. It's really disappointing to see him (Who could very well be described as one of the rare good or even great ones) be such a commitment phobe. Male forever bachelorhood seems anti women to me. Just my opinion.

Regarding dating apps, he said it's a trap to get guys to pay for premium subscriptions and that it encourages shallowness and lookism. When I asked him why he hasn't seriously thought of dating to settle down, he described it as a waste of potential. That dating then marrying then having kids is a societal scam and very few married or committed men are actually happy. That most probably resent their wives, long term girlfriends and children. He says he doesn't want to end up regretting anything.

When I told him he would grow old and die alone with that mentality, which I admit was a little too much, he stopped talking to me and continued typing on his laptop.

I hate to see my eligible Bestfriend waste his life like this and be so bitter about relationships. He could make a great boyfriend or husband but decides not to for no reason.

I see this becoming a more widespread mentality especially in countries likes Japan and Korea where men willingly choose the single life as it's deemed easier. There's a term for that. "Herbivore men". It's really selfish to be so self centered and abandon relationships and family for your own convenience.

I think that was a good thing to do, maybe socially obtuse but good hearted.
It's not wrong at all. You need people to be with you for the rest of your life it's how we work and function. I don't explicitly think it needs to be a wife and children though but that is the easiest most common path and gives fulfillment and purpose as well.
I want your friend to know genuinely good women exist. I think I am one personally. I am loyal to the death to the person I've committed myself to no matter what mistakes he makes or if he gets angry or whatever. I want to make him happy. I feel like that's my role. Not all women are bad, not all women have been socialized to be like this. We may inherently have the ideas that we need to lie or use men to survive or protect ourselves that's certainly deep within a lot of women but like I only lie if it's necessary for my survival and I depend on my bf and am only here because I was desperate to be taken care of but I also love him and want to live a long life with him.
I want to have a really big house one day honestly with people I heavily relate to and trust living together at least until they can leave or want to leave. I want more people to spend time with and take care of. It's hard to find people fully relatable even in most cities but I have people I deeply care about online who are struggling. I highly doubt I'll ever achieve this but maybe but the point is you can find other ways to persist through others. You can have apprentices, you can have a community, you know, I think there's other paths for some people. Life is really hard for people 18-40 (and younger obviously) and not obvious to most of us. I'm 30 and it took my entire life to figure out stuff that most would have ten years ago. Just need to have faith I guess.
