Can someone please explain why Zoomers need content warnings on books, tv, and movies? Parental advisory used to be a thing so boomer parents knew not to buy little Johnny NWA and Dr. Dre albums in third grade. Now they’re to let zoomers know that stereotypes might be present in a movie. What happens if a zoomer sees casual racism in a movie? Do they need therapy after?

I love content warnings. The whole notion that you need to be protected from certain information is peak dystopian.

My wife was looking at some book in target. I was curious what it was, and it has a page dedicated to trigger and content warnings. Apparently all women’s books now, even the ones sold at Target at the checkout line, are filled with rape, cum play, threesomes, reverse harems, pegging, anal, and bdsm. Mind you, this wasn’t at a sex shop. It was at Target, on an end cap, at checkout, next to the Starbucks coffee on sale.

Won a newly-written detective novel set in the 60's in a raffle at a book fair last winter; premise sounded cool, and I like Christie, so I thought I'd give a female author a shot. This is not ok! There should be a system that prevents these things from happening. A cultural committees that checks the movies for these problematic depictions, would be a solution, but they also need to anticipate what will be offensive in the future. The only other solution I can think of is to only allow movies to be shown for a certain period of time, Rush Hour should have been banned after 3-5 years circulation.

I would not want to waste such immense time by watching fiction from overpaid legacy actors. The real media is what can be drawn in free spirited art and animation for unlimited potential. It's rare that I even have the drive to care about real person movies in the first place.
