it doesn't really matter if it is flash flood alley. all the acreage was gifted to original texas settlers in the 1800s by the mexican government. that land was passed down to over the years and it is the main reason why generational families that live in hill country are so affluent. I used to own 15 acres, but the person I purchased it from had something like 15000 acres. it was just some spending money for them.
