We are pretty much a few decades from being minorities in our own countries, and I just can't see a realistic way out. Most people don't particularly care, no government is willing to make the hard choices to turn away from this mess, and what they could even do anyway? Even with all the benefits in the world, it all fall flat in the face of white women not wanting to have the magic number of 2-3 children.

You can't see a realistic way out because there is none, within the current framework. But the current framework can and will be thrown away like it never existed if there is enough incentive to change it. It seems the west had to reach the point of no return and doesn't even seem to stop soon. It is sad, but remember, we are talking about humans not rational smart beings, human history doesn't work by careful planning. Everything always become trivial by hindsight.
