Alligator Alcatraz can house "up to 3,000 migrants". (Source: cnn.com).
"The federal government is detaining more than 56,000 immigrants." (Source: kpbs.org)
"the Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS) estimates 11.0 million unauthorized immigrants were living in the United States on January 1, 2022" Source: Office of Homeland Security Statistics, ohss.dhs.gov)
Let's do the math.
Let's say the federal government wanted to deport *only* its imprisoned federal immigrants and it took exactly 1 day for each prisoner to arrive and leave. It would take 56,000/3,000 = about 19 days if everything worked perfectly.
*However*, it would take 11,000,000/3,000 = 3,667 days which is about *ten years* to deport all the illegal immigrants in the United States.
... and that doesn't include the constant influx of new illegals over the next 10 years.
