>>509707684 (OP)>Why did the media and culture writ large focus so much on this one instance??>>509708733>it was an elementary school>>509709175>A 22 year old just randomly deciding to off a bunch of grade schoolers though is kinda a different matter though..Yeah that was it. Most school shootings are loser types who are lashing out at their classmates over perceived bullying or because they simply resent other people for being better than they are. These are the classic stereotypes of the incel shooter popping caps in chads for fucking stacies and killing stacies for not fucking him.
Sandy Hook was different. It wasn't someone killing their classmates or killing authority figures they were angry with. It was a loner 20 something killing a bunch of random children he'd never interacted with before in his life. It seemed even more senseless than a regular mass shooting or school shooting.
Of course, it was fake, this much is true, but assuming it was real, that's why it was so shocking. It was also intended to be the main driver for gun control. Mass shootings worked in more homogenous and collectivized anglo societies like the UK and Australia to convince the public to ban firearms. Elites thought they could do the same thing in USA, if only they made the shooting shocking enough. Sandy Hook was the attempt to make the most shocking and senseless school shooting ever, with the greatest chance to convince normies to vote for gun control.
But Americans are stubborn and didn't take the bait. That's why there haven't been any major school shootings since Sandy Hook. Any that have happened since then are organic usually with targeted victims and thus lower kill counts. Elites stopped doing the school shooting psyop when they realized it wouldn't work
