Yeah for sure, it's a long time for kids to be living rough, and whilst i'm sure they're learning a lot of genuinely useful skills at the moment, they're also in their formative years and missing out on other important life stuff. I mean he's kept this up for almost four years now, that tells me he could keep this up indefinitely, hell that's long enough to actually establish yourself permanently off grid, grow crops etc, which means those kids could come out of the bush as adults and that's not going to be ideal.

Typically you’d appear in the region of whoever is charging you, but I’m pretty sure some high profile stuff has gone straight there.
I know a guy living in chch charged for assault in Nelson, so trial was Nelson for example.
Often the regional courts don’t handle really serious stuff, or cases that are likely to go on for weeks. He might jus be a couple of hours out of tow it they know it’ll go to a long trial, who knows.

If it were serious enough it would bounce straight to the high court.
Since it's Wellington district it's drugs of a smaller amount, driving or kid shit and the guys a local to the region.
