Doing it as an adult you're just going to get all the hormonal/biofunction changes, less any that will show results, because your bones are done growing, and the best those results might be is some softening of the features over a couple decades, or maybe changes in fat depositing giving you some changes to your figure. Of course, this is assuming we don't have some other gene-tech at that point that would run back the clock and turn back on systems that get closed out as we age, in which case it might not matter.
Either way, I always think it's funny that the LGBT crowd don't push for more funding for genetics research and engineering, since that and cybernetics are literally the only ways to ever actually get what trannies really want.
