I use it exclusively to talk to my buddies and play D&D with them. My recommendation would be to treat it the same way you should treat social interactions in the real world.

It's just a VOIP app. Like raidcall, ventrillo and the likes from back in the day. With some additions. You can run your own server, join others' servers. Each server can have multiple voice chat channels and chatroom channels. And it's the internet. You'll encounter the full gamut of humanity. Normal folks, degenerates, terminally online psychos, furries, etc, etc. Just follow normal internet safety rules and you'll be fine. My friends and I have our own server that acts as our group chat.
