Look at this hydrogen fuel cell. It's made fully at home, even membrane. 1x1 inch (2x2 cm) of Nafion membrane costs 20$, I made it by myself for free. I got 0.3 volts.

Why hydrogen fuel engines are not popular? It's good for ecology, good for gas prices.

Hydrogen is not suitable for cold water

Hydrogen vehicles, particularly fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), can experience reduced efficiency and range in cold weather, but advancements in technology are mitigating these issues. While some studies show a decrease in range and increased fuel consumption at low temperatures, others highlight the ability of modern FCEVs to operate reliably even in extremely cold conditio

Cheap organic oil already ended by 20th century, (((they))) make synthetic oil and can change gas prices however they want

Hydrogen is an energy storage medium. The best one discovered to date is Goodenoughโ€™s glass battery. However the technology was bought up by the corporations which apparently prefer to keep the technology inaccessible.

>Why hydrogen fuel engines are not popular?
I have a theory that hydrogen vehicles are not popular or not being made in large numbers because they can be designed to not be affected by EMPs. That is also why gas cars are being phased out. They want control, not to save the environment. Hydrogen cars only produce water, while the battery production in an EV dwarfs the lifetime pollutant production of a modern euro 5 gas car.

Nice so with 60$ you can get a full volt

13200 you could have enough voltage but not enough current to run one household appliance. Now you still need to produce explosive hydrogen somehow

>and the most cost effective source is natural gas
Cost effectiveness is a mental illness that is destroying the economy and wasting endless resources

Thermodynamics is real, human labor cost or market value are nigh irrelevant, wasting stuff that is finite and extremely useful/valuable just because itโ€™s cheap to produce is one of the greatest ongoing tragedies

When I was studying nuclear energy I went home over christmas break and they sat me in first class for one reason or another. I ended up sitting next to a scientist who was working for toyota developing their fuelcell tech.

He said the major problem with their design was that it uses too much platinum in the reaction and it wasn't really more affordable (cost/mile) than using gas.

If I remember correctly the fuelcell car from honda was also lease only.

Not sure if there are new developments in the field, this was like 15-20 years ago. But in any case I assume it's a cost / mile thing.
