Western Philosophy doesn't have "Nothingness", making it shit.

Post your retort.

East > West. Simply as.

it's based off the incorrect assumption that it's possible to translate Japanese.

it is not. there is no such thing as a japanese translation. Emptiness and Nothingness are so close to the soul of Japan, yet they're notoriously hard concepts to translate for western philosophers..

>Emptiness
another english word
ok if those aren't the right words then use the right ones
you can use more than 1 word if you can't find a single word to explain yourself

ummm..don't Emptiness and Nothingness sound Japanese-y? Does your brain not have a japanese detector in it, because both of those words don't sound English.

i'm just trying to grasp how to explain "Emptiness" to you. You need kanji knowledge for this. They use the kanji for 空, Sky. Emptiness. They believe the sky is some sort of emptiness, and they embrace it.

I don't know how to translate that to legible english. And Nothingness is a part of Japanese Buddhism, you would have to be a monk to try and figure that out.

English doesn't have a word that describes either. They use the kanji, like in the OP video.

Nothingness is a concept imported from Buddhism. It's not necessarily a Japanese exclusive understanding of the unsubstantial nature of conditioned phenomena. To put it succintly, all things which are dependent on other things to exist are said to lack self-nature, and so they are void and can only exist by terms of dialectics. It doesn't mean Matrix shit, rather that conventional understanding of the world is based on endless narratives and tag placing which can be drastically different from one person to the next.
