i'm pretty sure "summer offensive" was a western talking point

russia seems content with slowly moving forwards, as they've chosen the war of attrition path

That's still pathetic, this would be like the USA losing a war of attrition against Guatemala.

i don't think russia is losing, since they're taking and have taken land (about 20% of ukraine). they'd need to be pushed out of ukraine to lose.

ukraine is quite a capable force, and at their height, would beat any european country or the uk.

No, it would be like Mexico, and with the rest of the world arming them to the teeth.

Guatemala's population is 18 million to the U.S.'s 340 million. Ukraine's population is nearly a third of Russia's.

>i'm pretty sure "summer offensive" was a western talking point
Almost every "failed plan" Russia has had in this war was made up by western media or officials.
3 day war? An US general came up with that.
Same for summer offensive in 2024 and now in 2025.
Neither Putin, nor Lavrov nor Shoigu nor anyone of actual military or executive importance in Russia has ever made any statement regarding Russian offensives.

If you're lucky you might find something on Russian media, including Russian State media, but it's not like Putin is personally writting scripts for every journalist in Russia. Unless it's an official military or goverment document, it's meaningless.

But the funny thing is that, despite no official offensive, Russia is still gaining land every single day.

Russia is mobilizing 60,000 reserves a month compared to Ukraineโ€™s 24,000-30,000. In a war of attrition itโ€™s only a matter of how long Ukraine can hold
