Why does dancing have such a prominent place in human society and culture?

This is political because it is about something prominent in human society and culture.

There must be something to this because dancing exists in every culture. It is generally considered that to be 'cool' you almost have to be good at dancing, and if you try to dance but are bad then you are the most embarrassing kind of spasticated retard. Who gives a shit? What is so important about dancing?

The default answer would be that it is some display of skill and coordination, but there are a million things you can do to display skill and coordination, and none of them have such a prominent place as a social marker the way dancing does. Take playing music for example, without which dancing wouldn't even be able to exist. Music obviously has an important role in society too, and highly skilled musicians are generally respected, yet no one judges someone as being lame and uncool if they can't play an instrument. It's just something that some people can do and some people never learned, or don't take to very naturally. It isn't seen as embarrassing if you can't play music, and playing badly is only so if it is done out of place like a public performance. Besides, picture in your mind someone perceived as good at dancing, vs a cello virtuoso, and tell me who is more likely to get laid? Therefore, it is NOT about skill and coordination.

The craziest thing about it to me is dancing is totally fucking gay and retarded. I have never ever seen anyone dance and felt anything positive. It looks dumb, it is dumb. The 'better' the dance the more retarded it is, because it must have taken so long to learn and hence is an even bigger waste of time.

So what gives? Why are peons so obsessed with this activity?

The default response to saying stuff like this is that you are just mad because you can't dance. Well, I could dance. I am fit and coordinated, and I'm a talented musician so I have good rhythm. I have moved myself rhythmically to music many times before, but I don't think it quite qualifies as 'dancing'. I have 'danced' with friends at parties or clubs because there wasn't much else to do, and I was not out of place, but I did not enjoy it in any way. I have had sex with women as a result of 'dancing' with them. But I didn't really want to do it, I just wanted to have sex with the woman. The problem is not that I can't, I really genuinely do not understand it.

People have showed me so many AMAZING videos of dance performances over the years and I feel absolutely nothing. If they are doing acrobatics then that is kind of cool, but that is cool acrobatics not dancing. Besides, those kind of performances usually have little to do with the music.

Dancing is so fucking stupid my god. I just can't understand it. How can you watch someone flailing and gyrating around like a hyperactive monkey and think that is impressive in any way? Can someone help me to understand?

People who are good at dancing (as in having rhythm and being able to move naturally, not copying some dumb tiktok move) are generally good at sex, and vice versa. It's that simple anon.

Nah. Clapping is solely a group activity. People dance when they're by themselves, because dancing is fundamentally about the individual.
This is why dancing has been placed on such a monumental pedastal in modernity.
It's another avenue of self expression, but in modernity the goal is to have as many eyes on you as possible, similar to how modern fashion has convinced modern people that they are all unique and special snowflakes that must express themselves with a unique outfit that is different from everyone else's, that they picked out themselves.
Every retard under the Sun has main character syndrome these days, everyone wants eyes on them but can't think of a reason, so they just opt for the one with the lowest cost.
