I think all law enforcement faces some version of the same dilemma where there's always going to some amount of demand for the services organized crime provides, so it makes sense to let some of it slide so long as they're not fucking with civilians. If you crack down on them the void is apt to be filled by even harder, wilder guys who'll cause even more trouble, so it's more desirable for that space to be filled by comparatively well-behaved gangs who know the lines not to cross (and who are easier to infiltrate or coopt as necessary)

Also it’s a pretty great place if you’re into literally any outdoor activity or like rugby, our national religion.
My flatmates and I were very outdoor oriented. We wouldn’t plan the weekend ahead, just see what the weather was doing when we woke up.
Could be surfing in 5min, kayaking grade V in 30, skiing or rock climbing within an hour.

Depends a LOT on where you live.
North island is pretty bad in a lot of places.

QT is pretty shit, crowded, congested, insanely expensive like you wouldn’t believe.

Dunedin and Invercargill have depressing UK weather.
