It doesn't seem quite that bad where I live, but there's a pretty noticeable malaise in the air and has been one since about 2020. If you live in a major city, I can see things being a bit scarier and people being more closed off and disenfranchised than they are where I live. Nobody really has much faith in the USA anymore.
