This is a picture of the outskirts of town where every single one of those houses costs over a million dollars. No, they don't need all that space, that's why they pay a premium to occupy it. Go make some money, fag.

Curious house designs, anyone got any good sources on the materials and designs? I'm assuming they do well in the heat.

Might be some interesting design tidbits in there we could adopt here.

Coming from a country where new build "detached" houses are a foot from each other, with gardens overlooked in all directions... I'd say you definitely want that space. But you asked if you need that space, which of course you don't. However, if you're going for maximum capacity, you can do better than building houses closer together.

no ur a moron that looks like the right way to do it with as much nature as possible inbetween the houses

the problem with building houses everywhere is you destroy nature but thats how you integrate them both together

u couldnt have picked a worse example

yes, effective handgun range is about 300 yards, so keeping 150yards distance to the next cardboard house is actually how you keep gunviolence related deaths to a minimum

From what i've read and watched so far the old school stuff is really neat, good insulator and waco pro......good fire resistance similar to rammed earth construction.

We're a weird country, it's worth at least exploring weird ideas, they might just fit. I mean we can't use corrugated iron for everything.

It certainly has an organic charm to it, nice straight forward construction to, quite like the exposed timber beams internally but the external roof design is something that'd have to be a bit different here, even in the really dry areas we tend to get flood tier downpours and i'm not sure they'd handle the volume without a fully sloped roof.
