They can "win" the same way Afghanistan won, by being cockroachs that the Russians cannot fully defeat in a short enough time that citizens can stomach. Russians having to constantly hear about their sons dying in a swamp and how Russia despite being told of victories, still hasn't conquered a land they once held will wear down on them. Meanwhile as long as Russia is still fighting they are still cut from everything western and have to rely entirely on China, which makes them slaves.

If you adopt the Russian position that Ukraine is just part of Russia then they're both losing and conducting an extremely destructive civil war that will create long term resentment. I suppose NATO, the US and China win.
