It's her "dream journal". She sees the future in her dreams. But this time, she predicted the disaster for 5th July. That didn't happen, but still it's affecting tourism because no one wants to go to Japan now.

She said she saw the sea boiling to the South of Japan in her dream. She gave the date 5th July this time (unlike previous instances where she didn't give a specific date).
There were 3 earthquakes in Japan on the 5th (M4.2, M4.9, M3.9). But that isn't much of a disaster.

It says the manga was published in 1999. Freddie Mercury died in 1991. How is that a prediction? Or am I missing context?

Nah, just curious why Mercury dying was considered a prediction after the fact. Was there just a reference to the character previously predicting it? Like "in 1985, I dreamed of Freddie Mercury dying in a river of semen", and the article just made it sound more credible to add weight to the paranoia?

Apparently, a Hong Kong Feng Shui master named Qi Xian Yu also predicted disasters in Japan and South Korea.
>The coming year will see more natural disasters such as earthquakes and fires, and traffic and aviation accidents. We should also be careful of travelling to countries in the northeast direction, such as Japan and South Korea
Is it just China's plan to stop HKers from going to Japan?

japs are absurdly supersitious. they number their floors as 1, 2, 3, 5 because "4" sounds like the word for death. they also believe if you go outside or sleep with wet hair, or sleep in a closed room with a fan on, you'll actually die.
