>saves you a ton of money when you build your own home
>increases the white birth rate by lowering house prices
>respectable non bullshit job
>get ripped forearms like your dad that make women want to fuck

Because prices for materials have quadrupled and nobody can afford to build so construction workers don't have enough jobs to fulfil.

Realistically what's the best way to get started in it? Do you learn on the job?

Most construction companies promote from within. Get your hands dirty and then climb the ranks.

You'll have to start out as a chud being a helper. Then work your way up to actually swinging the hammer (or nail gun). They'll have to teach you to read the blue line prints and learn the building codes.
That is IF they want you to. Otherwise you'll just remain as a chud until you quit.

I know a contractor and I make decent money doing jobs no one else wants to do

>gathering up the chickenboards roofers throw down off the roof into one pile
>installing construction fencing and removing it when the job is done
>picking up garbage
>digging sewer connects
>helping the excavator dig and refill yard lines
>installing knobs on temp doors
>sweeping puddles of water off the OSB before the house is dried in

There's a ton of stuff that tradies won't do or "isn't worth their time" so I get to drive out to the job for a few hours and make bank and then go home early

That's not a bad gig actually.
You should reach out to some home builders (general contractors) and see if you can't get a deal for the lots theyre overseeing being put up.

I am not a minority and not part of the hiring policy
As a worker I will have no control over the housing policy
There is more money for corporations in building condensed urban dwelling units of one description or another
Manual laborers simply get nerve damage to the hands which appear swollen but they in no way build muscle

I worked in construction and collected lots of unemployment. But I got old enough to be forced off my parents' health insurance. Otherwise I'd probably still be there.
