Drones are inferior to shells in anything (range, explosive charge, costs, rate of fire, long-term storage, susceptibility to EW, weather, smokescreens, natural obstacles, being shot down mid-aie) but manoeuvrability. I think some parties who have consumed too much contextless footage from this war will end up investing in drones far more than it's prudent too and will realize too late that drones can't hold ground and can delay armies with large pools of infantry at best

I'd say we'll be seeing atleast partial replacement of squad level mortars since those are pretty inefficient in terms of the carried weight
in muh country a 81mm "light" mortar weighs over 50kg (+ammo) and is operated by a 5 man squad
those 5 guys could instead carry two hundred drones and an link terminal so that drafted autistic NEETs could remotely pilot them all at once
