Legally, I own 100% of the games that I purchased.
>b-but EULA
Not legally binding. You said "buy" and "purchase" and "product". Not "lease" or "rent". It's on my receipt. You do not have my signature on a lease contract. Rent-to-own stores explicitly say "lease" and "rent" along with requiring you to sign a contract. Rent-to-own homes require you to sign a contract along riddled with "lease" and "rent" along with the requirements.

>A lifetime pass to Disneyland does not exist for purchase by the general public. The closest option is the Golden Pass, which is given to Disney Legends, dignitaries, and select individuals. It is not something that can be bought. Estimates for the cost of a lifetime pass, if it were offered, range from $40,000 to $150,000 or more.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
No Lifetime Pass for Sale:
Disney does not offer a lifetime pass for sale to the general public.
Golden Pass:
The Golden Pass is a lifetime pass, but it is awarded, not sold. Recipients include Disney Legends, dignitaries, and other select individuals.
Estimated Cost:
If a lifetime pass were sold, it would likely cost a substantial amount. Some estimates range from $40,000, based on estimated annual ticket prices over a lifetime, to upwards of $150,000.
Magic Key Passes:
Disneyland does offer various tiers of Magic Key annual passes, which are available for purchase. These passes provide access to the parks for a set period, but they are not lifetime passes.

>if buying isn't owning then piracy isn't theft

Piracy does not need the institution of intellectual property to exist. If before using the software there is a use agreement that says that you can't distribute the software and you do it, you may call it piracy or not but you are violating the contract terms. And regarding this initiative, the same results could be achieved if gamers didn't buy games with this contract terms, without resorting to petty laws about minimal aspects of life that shouldn't be subject of legislation, but gamers are rather stupid and incontinent and will buy any game with terms they don't like because muh capitalism and consumerism are forcing them to do so. Legislation must be as simple as possible.

intellectual property is not property, therefore it is not immoral or even possible to "steal" it.
the solution to dead games (and a whole host of other gay jewish bullshit) is not more regulation, it is the complete and irreversible repeal of all (((IP laws and protections))), including but not limited to copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, geographical indications, plant breeding rights, semiconductor topography rights, moral rights, neighboring rights, publicity rights, trade dress protections, domain name protections, vessel hull design protections, sui generis protections, utility models, petty patents, design patents, collective marks, certification marks, service marks, sound marks, color marks, scent marks, hologram marks, position marks, motion marks, multimedia marks, non-traditional trademarks, well-known mark protections, famous mark dilution protections, cybersquatting protections, passing off protections, trade name protections, business name protections, performers' rights, broadcasting rights, producers' rights, droit de suite, rental and lending rights, public performance rights, synchronization rights, mechanical reproduction rights, digital performance rights, webcasting rights, simulcasting rights, statutory licensing, compulsory licensing, collective licensing, extended collective licensing, orphan works provisions, safe harbor provisions, notice-and-takedown systems, content identification systems, digital rights management legal protections, anti-circumvention laws, and any other legal monopolies or artificial scarcities created by government intervention in the free flow of information.

>Piracy is legal in Hungary.

No it's not, what is legal is to download cracked software, which I also support, because the one downloading has not signed any contract with the developer company, and even if it has done so because the cracked software prompts a contract signing sheet, such contract is not valid because the company has not consented issuing a contract for that person, because the software has not been acquired through official sources.

The category of piracy should only be applied to the guy that distributes the game.

I agree that intellectual property does not exist per se, and it is a tool to monopolise designs and game mechanics. But what if you sign a use agreement with the company that says that you can't distribute the game? Violating contract terms usually implies giving a compensation which renders the situation akin to theft though it is not formally theft.

Contracts are always incomplete and can't cover all possible situations (see incomplete contract theory) and this has serious implications for the so called intellectual property. For example, If someone somehow manages to reverse engineer the whole game and distributes it, it would be very hard for the company to prove that the user has violated any contract term to achieve those results, and for me that wouldn't be piracy. But that, however, does not mean that the company does not have the right to limit the use of the game via contracts to protect their creative effort.

>>509866195
I see the nuance anon, I was just using hyperbole to point out how ridiculous the proposed solution is when it contradicts the litany of protections those same regulating bodies granted to the corpos. contract violations are a civil dispute between specific parties who voluntarily agreed to terms and you can work within that framework without retarded IP law imposing restrictions on people who never agreed to any terms in the first place. though contract terms have their own problems, the vast majority are take-it-or-leave-it and essentially mean if you don't accept you don't participate, basically recreating IP law is a problem for unconscionability doctrine. things can certainly be different there but that's a separate question. take away the IP protections and the whole house of cards falls down and your fundamental rights as a consumer end up in a much better position. the massive waste in enforcement and rent-seeking for IP law has to go.

The games they're "taking away" are dependent on company infrastructure you don't own, like a game server for example. So you can't actually steal them. The campaign is going to give developers a legal obligation to make the game playable after support ends.

That's why the "if buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't theft" Piracy isn't going to save the kinds of games SKG is campaigning against.

You are way less intelligent than you think, and no matter how loud you repeat it, you are wrong about the laws of your own country. Your direction brain prevents you from understanding ideas of others if you are triggered by an element of them that seems to contradict yours. I've said that intellectual property does not exist per se and that it is very hard for a company to prove that the contract terms have been violated by an user, but they have the right anyway to establish the contract terms they want, so gamers have also the fault if they have consistently bought games with contract terms they don't like, and they could reshape the practices in the market if they bought wisely. But, as you are an statist loser (while also claiming internet anarchy >>509864352
, what an irony), you want to get everything you don't like legislated the way you like, completely ignoring that the EU is doomed because of the myriad retarded regulations we have.
