No, progress is not inevitable and it is not led by tech, it has to be allowed by the institutions of a society in it. India has more engineers and scientists than all of the West combined, yet they still defecate in the open and the greatest ambition of these people is leaving India, not making it a superpower.

Progress not only has not happened, people today are much materially poorer than they were in 2005. Nobody would choose having a smartphone over having a home. Thinking they were super advanced, Europe brought all of Africa and Asia into its continent, and now their people can't even leave their homes after 10 because they are afraid of getting stabbed.

Seriously, fuck this world. I come from a 3rd-world country, now I can't even escape it because all of the West decided to become a lamer, sexless and autistic version fo Brazil.
