You have probably heard about germans here, what you have not heard is how they came. To be short, our first king Dom Pedro I wanted to replace slave labor with immigrant manpower, preferably europeans. The portuguese would not come for obvious reasons, but neither would the spanish, french, english, dutch, etc. His wife was coincidentally an austrian hapsburg, so he had the bright idea of getting germans to come instead. Now that is perfectly normal, but he then changed objectives to whitening the country, and gave out benefits so ridiculously good to german immigrants many might have thought it was a scam. They had the trip fully paid, were given citizenship, were gifted 75 fucking hectares of land, were subsidized with 1 franco( french silver coin) or 160 réis(copper) for each settler which is thousands of dollars today per person, gifted farm animals to work, and isented from taxes and military service, besides given religious freedom to remain lutherans while catholicism was enforced by law at the time.
Because Georg Anton Schäffer, the man in charge of bringing them in, was paid per person, he brought in mostly poor people who had no choice and even literal criminals from Mecklenburg, hundreds of them shipped here directly from german jails. Our first king, not even three years in of the country going indepedent, had already sold it out to germans and ignored the ones who founded it. This was a country made by lusos, and because of the bragança bastard even now the inequality between us is massive. All german descendants here are the sons of criminals, blood sucking vampires who refuse to assimilate or even belong to this country, while looking down on its founders and their benefactors.
