One of my closest friends (I've known them essentially all my life) turned trans. I couldn't help him see the mistake he was making when he started taking hormones, the shame of not being able to help is one of the reasons why I moved away to the Islands.

While I tried to help, his wife and her family enabled him, and I lost him. I still love him, but my friend has died and will die again in not too long. I consider that punishment enough for his mistakes.

"normal" peoples' sexuality runs their non-sexual life too. women spend every waking moment making themselves more feminine consciously or subconsciously. Men are always striving to become more fit or competent, or make more money, to increase their sexual market value. these things are just normal or not even thought about by the average person. if you were born in a way where your sexuality doesn't match your phenotype then youve got a problem. you can either ignore it and cope or try to make the phenotype congruent with how you feel. that's it
