I the surface-level point behind the Panda Express comment is that they pay managers 105k/year. So in theory you could work your way up in about ≈6 years if you put in some elbow grease and probably make $30+/hr after 2-3 years as a worker.

The other implicit half of this conversation is that economic mobility is around all of us and readily available. But very few people want to work at Panda Express. The reality is that most high paying jobs are the ones many people don't want to do. Especially Gen Z thinks that class mobility is just going to be given to you just because you got your bachelor's and that's not the case.
